In an effort to inspire young singers to achieve their maximum potential, the Chester County Choral Society established its Excellence In Vocal Performance Award Competition in 1993. All high school seniors who either reside in or attend school in Chester County are eligible for these awards. The purpose of the awards is to recognize, promote and reward the achievement of vocal excellence in young singers in Chester County. Over the last decade, the Choral Society has recognized scores of talented vocal performers and awarded over $9,000 in prizes.

Voice teachers and high school vocal departments in Chester County will receive information in January 2008 about the fourteenth annual competition to be held April 12, 2008 at Calvary Lutheran Church.

The deadline for applications is March 28th.

**Correction to Application: Music is to be mailed to Ms. Ellis by March 29, 2008.

A cash prize of $500 will be awarded to the first place winner and $250 for second place.

Both winners will be invited to perform a solo at our annual Spring Concert in May and will receive a Certificate of Achievement and a plaque, which may be permanently displayed at the winner's school.
