The Chester County Choral Society’s Excellence In Vocal Performance Competition recognizes, promotes and rewards the achievement of vocal excellence in young singers in Chester County. The competition seeks out exceptional high school seniors who live, attend school or study voice in Chester County and provides winners with an opportunity to audition, to perform in concert, to earn monetary awards, and to achieve their maximum potential as young singers. Since 1993, the Choral Society has recognized scores of talented vocal performers and awarded over $11,600 in prizes. Most recently, the Honorable Charles B. Smith, a Senior Judge in the Court of Common Pleas of Chester County, has been a sponsor for the competition.
The competition will be held this year on Saturday, March 3, 2012 in the Henderson High School auditorium, 400 Montgomery Ave, West Chester, PA 19380.
** PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN LOCATION **
Singers must prepare a classical and a musical theatre selection to perform before three competition judges. All students receive a performance critique prepared by the judges after the competition.
