CCCS Board Meeting

Exton Baptist Church

 

Attendees:  Officers:  Bob Morgan, Chuck Cuttic, Dave Koch, Sue Davies

                    Section Reps:  Jaymie Lacombe, Beverly Holmes, Carole Grisin,

                                    John Banionis

                    Past President:  Fred Thompson

                    Artistic Director:  Gary Garletts

 

 

Minutes:  APPROVED with additions

           ~Rustin HS is also unavailable on March 16

           ~Ann is available for possible outreach concert on March 3rd

 

Publicity:

            ~press releases have been sent out

            ~WCOFC will advertise our appearance

            ~waiting for final answer from Kennett Symphony regarding program insert

 

Job Descriptions:

            ~ACTION ITEM:  Bob will develop amendment regarding board position for VP   

              of Development, and present to membership for a vote

 

Alfred University students:

            ~AU student from this area is coordinating with Nicole about arrangements

 

Chamber Singers:

            ~32 singers signed up for auditions (perhaps 4-6 more)

            ~Gary will develop objective audition criteria

            ~during pilot program, will require singers to be available spring and summer

            ~Exton Baptist is available for November 7th auditions

 

Treasurer:

            ~haven’t spent much

            ~only 3 people haven’t paid dues (updated on Tuesday to 1)

            ~Chuck has two bills to submit

 

VP Performance: 

       November Concert

            ~we need to develop permanent organized ticket distribution system  

            ~members must pre-pay section reps for tickets for this concert

            ~Chuck is designing program, hopefully ready to take to printer Oct. 20

            ~voted to include names of current members who are not singing in Nov. concert

 

 

        December Concert

            ~Chuck sent all necessary info to Ginna Goodall at Kennett Symphony

            ~we can put blurb in KS program, but would have to pay $250 for a quarter-page

               season ad (perhaps for next season, if we don’t sing with them again)

           

        Elijah CD’s

            ~Chuck and John are working on CD’s with ETA one month (?)

            ~Gary contacted instrumentalists, they are OK with us making copies for

               members and friends

~we could make a CD of choral excerpts for public sale (and to give to          instrumentalists)

            ~Gary will guide selection of pieces, need to determine how many to make,

            perhaps sell them at Dinner and Song and spring concert

           

         WCOFC

            ~discussion of details tabled until after November concert

            ~Gary will check out venue, decide how many singers will fit

            ~will split time with Rustin singers

            ~will put CCCS signs out on the street

 

         Outreach Concerts

            ~Chuck has feelers out to several venues

            ~Chuck will ask membership to make inquiries at other venues

 

VP Administration

            ~Dinner and Song date has been changed to March 6th (in order to have larger

               ballroom)

            ~will have served dinner rather than buffet

            ~will have better sound system

 

Old Business

            ~Library:  Bob is waiting to hear from Nicole and Sarah re: public library space   

            ~Risers:   perhaps advertise risers and trailer on Craigs List

 

 

New Business

            ~Personnel:  Gary asked Section Reps to follow up on Gamble, Thompson,

              Crarys, Humanick, Shirk, regarding returning music
